In other news, I grilled another steak on the grill today. This is the third time that I've done the entire process (from buying the meat to cleaning the dishes afterwords) and I must say that I own at BBQ-ing.
Speaking of owning:
I was in a house on Saturday (for all those that don't know, I'm doing Door to Door sales, selling alarm systems. Yep, I'm THAT guy). The gentleman that owned the home was about my height--6'3--and he was African American, probably in the low 200's as far as weight is concerned. So he was a big black dude that automatically terrified the life out of me. I managed to get inside, and we were half way through the sale when I brought up the "activation fee". (in later posts, i'll explain a sale.....so that will make more sense a few days from now.) He was angry, claiming that I had said earlier that the alarm was at no cost. I corrected him by saying "No, I said the equipment and installation was at no cost, we just ask you to take care of the monitoring and the one-time activation charge. It's just like your cell phone. So how many windows did you say you had?" That usually works to soothe and distract them, but this guy was sharp...and short tempered. He told me bluntly to "Get the hell out of my house, you f***ing asshole." So what did I do? Did I get out? Nay. I sought to have the last hurrah by sitting at his table a minute longer and drinking my water bottle, just to show him that I was neither impressed nor intimidated by his cussing and temper. As I brought the bottle to my lips, he grabbed it out of my hands and said, "You're done drinking. Get the hell out of my house!!" In the three weeks I've been here, I've never been so scared. I literally ran out the door. That douche took my water bottle! AND he got the last hurrah!!!! I consider this my greatest failure of the week.
Anywho, I'ma go back down to the BBQ now, I hear them calling me for a round of Settlers. I love Settlers.
Love, Peace, and Sweet Release.
